Larry Ellison’s Keynote on Oracle’s Vision and Strategy
Larry Ellison’s keynote addressed two main topics: the Multicloud Era and AI applied to Cybersecurity.
Multicloud Era
Ellison began by highlighting that we are entering a new phase where different cloud services need to work seamlessly together.
He noted that while customers often use multiple infrastructure clouds, those don´t “integrate gracefully”. Cloud should be open, customer should have choices. To address this, he announced a new strategic alliance with AWS, in addition to other recent ones like Microsoft (Azure) and Google.
He explained that Oracle will build (with go-live December 2024) a datacenter inside AWS Cloud to facilitate integration between them both. It’s an Exadata cluster within AWS Cloud. As an AWS customer, you will be able to provision, directly from the AWS console, the Oracle database.
Ellison then invited AWS CEO, Matt Garman, to the stage to elaborate on the details of this collaboration.
AI for Cybersecurity.
He mentioned how Oracle is using AI to build cyber defense robots to defend from identity theft and intrusions.

He then presented three customers to speak about how AI is at the center of their success stories.
