Nicca Chemical is a chemical manufacturer that develops for the various industries, including the textile industry, based on surfactant science. Nicca Japan decided to go global with JD Edwards to its subsidiary in the US.
1. The Challenge
- Risks due to time zone difference between Japan and US.
- Business parallel objective besides JD Edwards implementation: New business best practices and standardization had to be applied in US subsidiary, leaving the idea of a simple rollout bit behind.
- Many implementation teams had to be aligned and communicate well during the project, and many business decission makers: Nicca Japan, Japanese JDE vendor, Nicca US, ITCROSS team.
- New business global rules were issued in the middle of the project, and had to be analyzed and applied in Nicca USA, changing project scope and timeline.
